The SAS system is a powerful software program that enables you to successfully
perform data analysis and data mining activities to generate comprehensive, meaningful reports

Instructor for all courses: JIANMIN LIU, Ph.D., is a senior vice president of
statistical modeling and data mining for the Consumer Credit Group at Wells Fargo Bank in San
Francisco. He is also an adjunct professor at Golden Gate University in San Francisco, teaching
finance, econometrics, and data mining. He has a Ph.D. from the University of California,

Location for all courses: San Francisco Downtown Center, 425
Market St., 8th Floor (enter on Fremont St.)
Program prerequisites: Prior experience with another programming language
is helpful but not required.
A grade point average of 3.0 (B) or higher is required in order to earn the certificate; each course
must be completed with a grade of C or higher. A minimum of 150 hours of coursework is
required, and all courses must be completed within two years.
On successful completion of all five courses,
you are awarded a certificate from UC Berkeley Extension.
Registration Procedure
We recommend that you register for the professional sequence before you begin your second course in the program. To register, please (1) complete and submit the
Program Registration Form or (2) print out and complete the form at
www.unex.berkeley.edu/cert/certproginfo.html. Mail or fax it as it indicates, and include the nonrefundable registration fee. Professional sequence registration cannot be taken by phone.
Requirements may be updated based on new developments in the field of study; we recommend completing the program in a timely fashion.
