Microarray Technology

DNA microarrays have revolutionized the field of molecular biology and clinical diagnostics, due to their ease of use and versatility. This powerful technology provides the ability to screen for gene expression of the entire genome in one simple experiment. Our program provides rigorous, hands-on training designed to take the participants through all the steps necessary to design, set up, run, and analyze a DNA microarray experiment.

The professional sequence was developed in collaboration with the Biotechnology Institute.

This professional sequence is under review, and we are not currently accepting applications for the program.

Benefit of the program

Upon completion of the course, participants should be comfortable in using DNA microarray technology in a lab setting and analyzing the data independently.

Who should attend

This certificate is intended for biotechnology and pharmaceutical professionals, computer scientists, and others who are interested in learning this important technology.

Required Courses

Principles of Microarray Design, Normalization and Application provides a comprehensive description of experimental design specific to microarray experiments and techniques involved in image processing.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Microarray Data Analysis illustrates data analysis by applying pattern recognition methods to publicly available microarray data sets.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Microarray Experimentation in the Laboratory conducts the various steps involved in a typical microarray experiment in a two-day, hands-on course.
