NEW ONLINE PROFESSIONAL SEQUENCE

Integrated Circuit Design and Techniques

(EDP 302851)

Before a circuit designer can cope with the ever-increasing bandwidth of state-of-the-art design, it is necessary to have a comprehensive understanding of key concepts: vital semiconductor characteristics, how to model semiconductor devices, and various analog, digital, and mixed-signal integrated circuit (IC) designs. This professional sequence is intended for working professionals without experience in IC design who are interested in advancing their career development.

Choose English or Mandarin

A significant trend in this field is the continued strength of China's leading role at all levels in the electronics industry, from raw semiconductor fabrication to finished end-user systems. This professional series addresses the expanding IC field with innovative, bilingual approach, offering English or Mandarin soundtracks to accompany the English slides. Mandarin-speaking students with limited English may successfully complete either the individual courses or the entire professional sequence.

Program Benefits

The professional series combines sets of knowledge and skills that reflect a complexity and integration beyond what normally would be covered in one course, and exposes students to multiple perspectives on the subject. Instruction places an emphasis on delivering an inspiring practical perspective involving physical concepts, operation principles, second-order effects, modeling, and simulation. Please note: You may take as many individual courses as you wish without enrolling in the full professional sequence.

Requirements

There are no prerequisites. All participants must complete the four required courses and at least two additional semester units for a total of 10 academic semester units (150 hours of equivalent classroom time). Students must successfully pass the program with a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0, and earn no grade lower than a C in any course. All courses must be taken for academic credit and a letter grade. Students have up to three years to complete the sequence from the original date of enrollment. Please call (510) 642-4151 to verify your completion.
