Noon lecture addresses “How the Humanities Can Help Business”

In this free lunchtime lecture, award-winning scholar Charles Burack discusses the practical value of a humanities education for business professionals and their organizations. He will emphasize the power and use of creative and critical thinking and of historical, cultural, and ethical perspectives.

Rescheduled from its original date of March 21, this lecture is the last of five noon-time lectures at the SOMA Center, all exploring cultural issues that make the humanities central to our lives.

The lecture series, "Art, Spirit, Politics, Power: Humanities on the Cutting Edge," gives an exciting glimpse into our interdisciplinary course offerings in the arts and humanities, including literature, history, spirituality, business, and the visual arts. Lectures are presented by UC Berkeley Extension’s premier instructors, all of whom have a passionate interest in sharing their fields of expertise with a general audience.
