How to Apply
Landscape architects are called upon to solve challenging problems in environmental design. The Evening Certificate Program in Landscape Architecture offers you an educational experience that prepares you for an entry-level position in this growing profession. The curriculum encourages individual creativity and expression while emphasizing the practical applications of design solutions. Your class assignments include planning and developing projects as diverse as community gardens, urban parks, commercial plazas, and college campuses.
The San Francisco Bay Area has the highest per capita concentration of landscape architects in the U.S., giving Evening Certificate Program students the best possible opportunities for learning. This program is certified by the Landscape Architects Technical Committee of the California Board of Architectural Examiners.

The Curriculum

Prerequisites
- Bachelor's degree in any field.
- Experience in horticulture, forestry, urban planning, architecture, or other related design disciplines is helpful but not required. It is sometimes possible to substitute or waive courses based on previous coursework in related subjects. Academic transcripts and a portfolio review are required for transfers and waivers.

Completing Your Program
The minimum time required to complete an Evening Certificate Program in Landscape Architecture is three years, though your individual program may take longer due to the fact that not all courses are offered each term, some courses may be canceled, and some courses may fill before you register.
You may begin the program in the fall term only.
