Concurrent Enrollment Application
Before submitting an application, you should contact the instructor for the class in which you would like to enroll to:
- ensure you have satisfied any prerequisites,
- confirm that the class will meet your needs, and
- gauge the likelihood that there will be space available in the class to allow your application to be reviewed.
After you have contacted the instructor, and if the instructor has indicated that it is likely that your application will be approved, you should attend class from the beginning of the semester. Some departments, such as Physics, have an additional departmentally administered application process. Check with the department prior to making your application. If you have not heard by the beginning of the sixth week of classes whether or not your application has been approved, you should check with the instructor to see if your application has been received for review. As an applicant, you are responsible for contacting your instructor, department, and school to answer any questions reviewers may have about your application, and ensuring that your application completes review in a timely manner. Log into your
concurrent enrollment application account to track the status of your application. Please note that any applications that have not completed the application review process by the end of the seventh week of classes may be administratively rejected.
You are not officially enrolled in a class until your class application status is "Approval Completed."
Please note that classes listed on the
Schedule of Classes with Early Drop Deadlines (EDD) are not generally available for concurrent enrollment application, and you should check with the department before submitting an application. There is a nonrefundable $100 application fee in addition to any course fees.
Instruction for fall 2008 classes begins on August 27; however, the deadline for receipt of your concurrent enrollment application and payment is not until the end of the fifth week of classes, September 26, at 4 pm. This lag is because the review and approval of applications for concurrent enrollment are done only if there is still space available in the classes after the matriculated students have had an opportunity to enroll. You are encouraged to submit your application and fees prior to the deadline so that your application is available for review as soon as the instructor and/or department determines there is space available. No applications or fees will be accepted after September 26 at 4 pm; all fees must be paid in order for applications to be routed for review. Detailed instructions on fee payment will be posted with the application form; the
fee schedule and deadlines are available now.
Note regarding enrollment status: Completing fee payment for courses requested through the concurrent enrollment application process does not constitute enrollment. All applications must be reviewed and fully approved by the class' instructor of record, the campus department offering the course, and in some cases, the school or college before an applicant can be fully enrolled.
The concurrent enrollment application website is scheduled to open for fall 2008 application on July 1, 2008; check back here for updates. In the interim, please refer to the
Schedule of Classes to gather your course information. You must satisfy all course prerequisites in order for your application to be reviewed and approved. Once you have entered your application and paid your fees, your application will be routed for review and consent of the instructor, department chair, and, in some cases, the dean of the department’s school or college.
You will be notified by e-mail once your application has completed the review process. As an applicant, you are responsible for contacting your instructor, department, and school to answer any questions reviewers may have about your application, and ensuring that your application completes review in a timely manner. Please log into your
concurrent enrollment application account to track the status of your application.
You are not officially enrolled in a class until your class application status is "Approval Completed."
