Project Management

The Certificate Program in Project Management enables you to acquire
the skills you need to keep projects on task, on time, and on budget.
The highly interactive program builds from theories of project
management to real-world practices applicable to all industries and
fields, including marketing, financial services, business
administration, information technologies, international trade, health
sciences, government, construction, and more. All of our project
management courses apply toward professional development units (PDUs)
for the Project Management Institute (PMI).
UC Berkeley Extension is a recognized provider registered with the
Project Management Institute Registered Educational Provider Program
(PMI R.E.P.). UC Berkeley Extension accepts and adheres to all PMI
R.E.P. program policies, requirements, and rules concerning the
provision of professional education activities and materials.
Requirements
The curriculum consists of six required courses, for a total of 14 semester units and 210 hours of instruction.
All coursework must be completed within five years with a minimum grade point average of 2.5 and no grade lower than a C. If you maintain a 3.5 grade point average you will be awarded a certificate with Distinction.

Substitution of Courses
Certificate candidates may petition to make a substitution for
one course in the certificate sequence. The substitute course must be
equivalent in subject matter and credit, and must have been completed
within the past five years with a grade of B or higher at an accredited
college or university. For more information about petitioning for a

Registration procedure
We recommend that you register for the certificate program before you begin your third course in the program. To register, please (1) complete and submit the
Program Registration Form or (2) print out and complete the form at
www.unex.berkeley.edu/info/cert.php. Mail or fax it as it indicates, and include the nonrefundable registration fee. Use EDP #152249. Certificate registration cannot be taken by phone.
Requirements may be updated based on new developments in the field of study; we recommend completing the program in a timely fashion.
Alliances for Enhanced Learning
Many Extension courses carry academic credit that may be applied to a degree at other institutions. Transfer of credit is always pending by the
receiving institution. UC Berkeley Extension has formal credit-transfer agreements with some schools. For further information, please visit:
