Business Practices for Interior Designers
X409 (3 semester units in Architecture)
This course explores the practical aspects of the business of design. Topics include business formats, firm structure, creating business and marketing plans, the legal aspects of the profession, fee estimating, proposal writing, collecting fees, record keeping, and ways to limit liability. The role of project management and the duties of the project manager are also addressed.
Prerequisite: Studio I: Conceptual Design, Residential and Commercial X408.1, or consent of instructor.
