First-Person Writing That Sells
This intensive one-day workshop explores the secrets of writing and selling personal essays. Class discussions cover the crucial elements of a successful piece, including use of detail and imagery, angle, tone, and epiphany, as well as crucial elements of marketing, such as not waiting for an editor to come to your house and demand to publish your work. The instructor reads and comments on one three-page essay from each student; you may bring it to class or send it to the instructor later.
