Advanced Critical Incident Stress Management

15 hours CE credit: BRN, LCSW/MFT, and psychologists
A certificate of completion for this course will be provided by the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation.This course is designed for students with previous training in CISM and experience providing CISM and crisis intervention services. Topics covered include knowledge and skill competencies important to the experienced student. Lecture topics include standard of care, current research, and troubleshooting common problems in critical incident stress debriefings and defusings.
Student skills are developed to prepare students for interventions following disasters, line-of-duty deaths, multiple incident debriefings, and post-traumatic stress assessments in the field.

DAVID F. WEE, M.S.S.W., LCSW, is program supervisor for the Berkeley Mental Health Crisis Service program and disaster mental health coordinator for the City of Berkeley. He is a member of the North County Critical Incident Stress Management Team and has provided training in emergency and disaster mental health at the local, state, and federal levels.
