Internship in Interior Design
X409.2 (2 semester units in Architecture)
Become more knowledgeable about the interior design profession through an internship at a participating design or architectural firm. With the guidance of the director of the program and the supervision of the host organization, you work as a junior designer to gain a greater exposure to the real design world and prepare for your future profession.
You are responsible for finding an interior design/architectural concern with which to intern before the course begins. A total of 90 internship hours is required within a period of six months. Before registration, you should call the Interior Design office at (415) 284-1070 to receive an internship packet and then complete a request form for your site approval. To complete the internship, you must provide a daily journal written on the job site, a paper summarizing your internship, and an evaluation from your job supervisor. You must also give a formal presentation in class.
