Collage
X423 (2 semester units in Art)
Using found imagery and a variety of media, you can explore elements of color, composition, surface, and texture using collage techniques. Course projects encourage you to experiment with layering images and using transparencies, symbols, text, and collaborative art-making to create a body of work, develop a bank of ideas for future work, and uncover the magical and expressive possibilities of all kinds of materials and objects.

AMY BERK, M.F.A., is an artist, writer, and educator. She is co-editor and one of the founders of the art and culture Web journal Stretcher (www.stretcher.org); runs the Meridian Interns Program, an innovative art education program for at-risk youth; and exhibits her hybrid brand of feminist pop art both nationally and internationally.NOTE: This class is closed.
