A requirement in the Professional Sequence in Personal Financial PlanningThis course introduces the fundamental areas included in preparing a comprehensive financial plan for an individual client. Both those with experience in financial industries and those who want to become practitioners in personal financial planning can benefit from this course.
Participants receive an extensive introduction to the technical skills required in such areas as income tax, investments, insurance, employment benefits, estate planning, and mathematical analysis, and learn about their interrelationship in providing comprehensive service. One session covers fundamental concepts in the time value of money, as well as algebraic analysis and its application in personal financial planning. Other topics include the nature of the marketplace for personal financial planning services, career opportunities, the emerging regulatory environment, and the client/practitioner relationship.
