Japanese I
X15 (3 semester units in East Asian Languages)
This course, for people with little or no knowledge of Japanese, emphasizes the development of conversational skills. By the end of the course you should be able to introduce yourself, make purchases, ask and give directions, make phone calls, and talk about plans and experiences. You should also have a solid grammatical foundation and be able to read and write
hiragana, one of two Japanese syllabic writing systems.
