Precalculus
X9 (2 semester units in Mathematics)
This class is designed to expose students to concepts in basic and advanced algebra and some trigonometry. Topics such as logarithms, solving or graphing linear equations, and factoring a polynomial will be familiar to some students. However, this class goes into these topics at a more advanced level than a beginning or intermediate algebra class does. This course provides a good background for study in future calculus classes.
Note: An integral component of this course is the interactive website MyMathLab. Please go to the
MyMathLab website for complete system requirements.
Prerequisites: Two years of high school algebra, (or the equivalent of a beginning and an intermediate algebra class) and one year of high school geometry or its equivalent. Students
must have access to a computer with a Windows operating system (98, 2000, ME, XP) and Internet Explorer 6.0. No other OS or browsers are supported.
