Creating a Business Venture
X408.7 (2 semester units in Business Administration)
This course takes you through the process of creating and managing a business. Following an analysis of your own tolerance for entrepreneurial risk and a discussion of how to recognize and analyze business opportunities, the course focuses on techniques for conducting market research and understanding the economics of a chosen line of business. Attention then turns to important aspects of finance, budgeting, valuation, sources of capital, and the importance of the business plan. You develop a venture plan with the assistance of the instructor.
