C Language Programming I
X444 (2 semester units in EECS)
An elective in the Certificate Program in UNIX/Linux System AdministrationThis course provides a solid introduction to all the fundamental aspects of C, including elementary data types; arithmetic, logical, and bitwise operators; control-flow statements; functions; structures; pointers; program scope rules; good program design practices; and C debugging techniques. Emphasis is on ANSI-standard C, but earlier versions of C are also discussed. No computing facilities are provided; each participant is required to have access to a C compiler and hard-copy output device for programming assignments.
Prerequisite: Prior experience with a high-level programming language is helpful.

LALITHA KRISHNAMURTHY, M.S., is a staff systems software engineer at Fujitsu Software Corporation. Her responsibilities include enabling Sun's Solaris Operating System (UNIX SVR4+) on Fujitsu's SPARC server platforms. She has taught UNIX, Java, and C courses for UC Berkeley Extension.
