Fulfills the Health Education requirement for all California teaching credentialsStudies confirm that both physical and emotional health are critical to school performance. Helping students learn to care for their bodies and make healthy emotional adjustments to the demands and pressures of our fast-paced society is part of the educational process at all grade levels. This course presents strategies for teaching health concepts in elementary, secondary, and adult classes. Topics include personal health, fitness and nutrition, stress and depression, emotional health, sexuality, and use and abuse of drugs and alcohol.
This course may be used to fulfill the health education and nutrition requirements for a Ryan Multiple and/or Single Subject Credential when applying directly to the Commission on Teacher Credentialing or for a full-time Adult Education and Vocational Education Clear Credential.
