Introduction to Chemistry
X16 (3 semester units in Chemistry)
This non-lab course offers an introduction to basic principles in chemistry and demonstrates the role chemistry plays in various aspects of our everyday lives.
Prerequisite: Although a background in chemistry is not necessary, students are required to have a basic knowledge of math, including algebra.

JUDITH MCCLARIN, Ph.D., received her Ph.D. at Michigan State University. She has researched metallo-proteins at Washington State University and drug design and protein structure at UC San Francisco. She has taught general chemistry, biochemistry, and analytical biochemistry and has published a textbook on organic and biochemistry. McClarin is currently working on a new textbook and teaches at Sonoma State University.
