A required course in the Adult and Vocational Education Teaching Credential ProgramsThis course engages you in a study of instructional strategies, activities, and materials appropriate for teaching the adult and adolescent learners with diverse needs. You learn about effective planning and clear presentation of instruction and motivational strategies for learners. Other topics include techniques for promoting positive interpersonal relationships in the classroom, school and community; techniques for group facilitation; and principles of learner-centered instruction.

JAMES ILER, M.A., has an M.A. in educational leadership with a concentration in master teaching. He is program manager for the management program at the School of Extended Education at St. Mary's College. He also teaches in the online management program for Keller Graduate School.
