Organizational complexity and the growing unpredictability of business circumstances require high-level leadership strategies and skills in resolving disputes, managing diversity, inspiring excellence, and building productive teams.
Using case studies, small-group discussions, and examples from Bay Area organizations, this course explores such issues as organizational conflict and power, management development, interpersonal influence, and the advantages and drawbacks of participative management. The instructor uses an interactive approach to outline common management myths and pitfalls, and offers practical steps that help managers respond to problems.
