A requirement in the Certificate Program in Human Resource ManagementThis course explores the six core areas of human resources: management practices, selection and placement, training and development, compensation and benefits, employee and labor relations, and health, safety, and security. You learn how these areas function within an organization, as well as how they relate to each other. The course highlights the growing multitude of laws, rules, and regulations that impact the California employer and the role of the human resources professional in an organizational setting.

BRIAN KUNDERT, B.A., SPHR, currently serves as the manager of recruitment programs for LFR Inc. Kundert has more than 10 years of experience in managing the recruiting cycle including the development and implementation of staffing programs, strategic recruiting, standardizing selection, and managing the onboarding process. He holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of California, Berkeley and a minor degree in business from the Haas School of Business and is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources.

Schlocker has a bachelor's degree in psychology from Arcadia University, a master’s degree in industrial psychology from California State University, Los Angeles, an M.B.A. in finance from Northrop University, and certificates from the University of Pennsylvania in Strategic Human Resources Decision Making and from Cornell University in Strategic Human Resources Management. He has his Senior Professional in Human Resources designation from the Society of Human Resources Management.
Schlocker has spoken at numerous venues including the United States Department of Labor, the American Psychology Association, the Property Causality Insurers of America, the Insurance Education Foundation, and Northern California Human Resources Association’s annual conference. The American Psychological Association and the National Honor Society of Psychology have recognized him for his research and academic achievements, and his research has been published by the Department of Labor and the Journal of Psychometrics. He has also served as an instructor for the Northern California Human Resources Association in their professional designation curriculum and as a faculty member at University of San Francisco.
