Mandarin III

X24 (2 semester units in East Asian Languages)

This course emphasizes oral expression in idiomatic Mandarin. By the end of the course, you should be able to make telephone calls, ask for and give directions, talk about past events, discuss future plans, and use vocabulary and idiomatic phrases appropriate for some formal occasions. You should also be able to read and write 475 simplified characters and their corresponding pinyin romanization. Enrollment is limited.

Prerequisite: Mandarin II X23 or equivalent.
