Principles and Techniques of Molecular Cell Biology

This course explains how cells function and how research in cell and molecular biology is making its way out of the laboratory and into everyday life. You learn about gene regulation and expression; cell regulation; genetic engineering and cloning; the Human Genome Project; the genetic basis of cancer; diseases of the immune system, including AIDS; and the use of DNA technology in forensics.

Prerequisite: One year of college-level general biology.
