A Biopsychosocial Approach to Understanding & Treating Clients with Chronic Illness

The biopsychosocial model incorporates psychological and social factors in addition to biological factors that contribute to both the maintenance of health and the onset and treatment of most medical conditions. In this workshop, you review the effects of stress, lifestyle, and emotional states on health and illness, and learn an approach to psychotherapy with chronically ill clients that incorporates psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, and supportive techniques.
