Treatment of Disorders of the Self and Attachment
(0.6 ceu)
6 CE credit: BRN, LCSW/MFT, and psychologists
Diagnosis and treatment relies on a precise understanding of the structure of personality formed by early attachment experiences. Many presenting problems -- including depression, anxiety, addiction, and relationship issues -- accompany an underlying disorder of the self. Recent advances and understanding from attachment and neuro-psycho-biological research support Masterson's theory of disorders of the self and model for treatment. The Masterson Approach provides a clear context in which to understand and treat the borderline, narcissistic and schizoid disorders. Guest presenters: Lara Weyland, Ph.D., and Nancy Levine-Jordan, LCSW.
