Julia Morgan's Architectural Legacy
(0.6 ceu)
Julia Morgan was America's first independent female architect, and she left a legacy of exquisite architecture throughout the Bay Area. This one-day course explores her innovative design philosophy and includes a visit to several of her best public and private buildings. A slide lecture on her work is given in the morning and after a brown-bag lunch, there is a guided tour of some of her interiors in Berkeley. The instructor is the author of the new book
Julia Morgan: Architect of Beauty, and has been teaching and writing about Morgan for more than 30 years.
