Health Careers Seminar
An optional seminar for students enrolled in the Post-Baccalaureate Pre-Medical and Pre-Health ProgramsThis optional, noncredit seminar provides students with formal assistance as they apply to programs in the medical and healthcare professions. Working and interacting with advisers, students develop strategies for admission, write personal statements, participate in mock interviews, decide their plan for letters of recommendation, learn about financial aid programs, and ask questions pertaining to their individual credentials. The seminar meets for two hours on five consecutive Sunday mornings.
Prerequisites: To be eligible for enrollment, pre-medical students must have completed 18 units and maintained a minimum 3.3 GPA; pre-health students must have completed 12 units and maintained a minimum 3.0 GPA.

PATRICK I. BROWN, Ph.D., has nearly 30 years of experience teaching human anatomy and related courses to undergraduate, postgraduate, and medical students. He has received widespread acclaim for his teaching excellence and his development of innovative educational programs in the biological sciences. As a medical school administrator, he effectively counseled hundreds of pre-health professional and graduate students. He has published widely in medical education and basic science journals. Recently, he has gained enormous insight into teaching clinical implications of basic human anatomy through his hands-on work in anatomic pathology at California Pacific Medical Center.
