General Biology II
X15B (3 semester units in Integrative Biology)
(formerly General Biology-B)
This course introduces fundamental concepts in biology, including prokaryotes; protists; fungi and plant development, form and function; population genetics; ecology; conservation; the origin of life; evolution; and classification. The class is designed for biology majors, pre-medical, and pre-health students. In addition, it is appropriate for returning students interested in a "refresher" biology class and professionals in other disciplines considering a career change to the biological sciences. This course is associated with General Biology Laboratory II (X15.1B). Lecture may be taken without the laboratory.
