General Biology Laboratory II
X15.1B (2 semester units in Integrative Biology)
(formerly General Biology Laboratory-B)
This laboratory introduces fundamental concepts in biology, including prokaryotes; protists; fungi and plant development; form and function; population genetics; ecology; conservation; the origin of life; evolution; and classification. The class is designed for biology majors, pre-medical, and pre-health students. In addition, it is appropriate for returning students interested in a "refresher" biology class, and professionals in other disciplines considering a career change to the biological sciences. Emphasis is given to the development of laboratory skills such as instrumentation, data analysis and observational skills. This course is associated with General Biology I (X15.1B).
Prerequisite: General Biology II (X15B) must be completed with a C- or better or taken concurrently.
