Modern Standard Arabic II
X51 (3 semester units in Near Eastern Studies)
(formerly Classical Arabic II)
This course is a continuation of Modern Standard Arabic I. It trains you to use more sophisticated grammatical structures, to expandyour vocabulary, and to gain a basic knowledge of some aspects of Arabic art and culture. You improve your ability to read, write, and converse in modern standard Arabic; you also introduce some spoken Arabic into your conversation for more natural communication with native Arabic speakers. In addition to the texts, other resources will be made available to students to improve their level of fluency.
Enrollment is limited.Prerequisite: Modern Standard Arabic I X50 or equivalent.
