Sculpture Intermediate-Advanced
X421 (2 semester units in Art)
Designed for artists with some experience in sculptural techniques, this course covers the conception and evolution of an idea to the creation and installation of a sculpture. Techniques presented include multiple mold-making and armature-making using ferro cement or plaster. Placing a sculpture in a context expands and clarifies its meaning. Students are challenged to create a site-specific piece to gain deeper insight and understanding of the sculptural reality.
Prerequisite: Sculptural Fundamentals X420 or consent of instructor.
