Water-Based Painting
X413 (2 semester units in Art)
This thorough exploration of water-based painting media is suitable for both beginners and more experienced students. Demonstrations are provided in the essential tools and techniques for acrylic, watercolor, colored ink, gouache, and tempera, as well as procedures to make an acrylic painting have the "look" of an oil painting. Slide lectures illustrate the historical and contemporary use of water-based media, and course projects inspire each student's individual style through the production of their art "in series."
