Color Theory for the Visual Arts
X403 (2 semester units in Art)
Artists can strengthen their use of color by understanding how colors interact and what conditions create harmony and disharmony. This lecture/studio course is designed as a foundation for basic painting and is a valuable resource for artists and designers. The course includes lectures and projects on perception and color intensity, the value scale and simultaneous contrast, the effects and physics of color, and theories on color psychology.
