An elective in the Professional Program in the Treatment of Mood Disorders and the Professional Program in Child and Adolescent TreatmentThis workshop provides clinicians with an overview of the cognitive-behavioral approach to childhood and adolescent mood disorders, with an emphasis on major depressive disorder and dysthymia. The workshop offers clinicians of all levels an evidenced-based, cognitive-behavioral foundation for the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mood disorders in youth, and guidelines for the teaching of behavioral and cognitive interventions including: activity scheduling, problem solving, social skills training, cognitive restructuring, development of incentive systems, and other helpful interventions.
