Intermediate Photography
X2 (2 semester units in Architecture)
Photographers already familiar with the camera and the basics of darkroom or digital printing can take this course to help clarify and practice the visual language of photography, including such elements as composition and the use of light. They can also explore photography's history and its stylistic influences and learn how to use the medium for individual expression and discovery. Lectures are supplemented by assignments, class critiques, and a field trip. Digital or manual-film cameras may be used to complete assignments. Students should bring samples of their work to the first class.
Prerequisite: Beginning Photography X1 or equivalent experience.
