Dean's MessageWelcome to UC Berkeley Extension—where you can expect the extraordinary.In this fast-paced world, education is an ongoing necessity. New technologies test our skills. Original ideas stretch our minds. Globalization broadens the boundaries of our lives. And, thanks to health advances, our lives are longer and more active, giving us the opportunity to reinvent ourselves again and again. It is with these challenges and choices in mind that UC Berkeley Extension creates innovative, comprehensive education for the lifelong learner. We're more than a typical extended learning organization. Our programs reach students in all corners of the world and from all walks of life. Some participants gain the training they need to advance their careers, while others pursue cultural interests or broaden their knowledge of current social issues. To meet a variety of educational needs, we offer flexible, comprehensive curricula in many formats. We develop university-level courses for various stages of expertise, introductory to advanced, offered days, evenings, or weekends. Learning takes place where it's most convenient for students, from on-site customized training to online learning to multiple Bay Area locations. Underlying all of our educational offerings is a wholehearted dedication to academic excellence.
